I like your ideas although the rd thing should be random. They have it in RO too, in some dungeons. Every now and then you might come across a really hard level, keeps the adrenaline up.

With the boss monsters: I know a few quests that have pretty nice bosses and there are some rather fancy prizes to them.

A Wyvern-themed LQ: Final boss? We don't get to play with the same character anymore?

More uniqueness to the races: Quests? Race specific quests? That would be rather dissapointing and hard to do fairly. As for the others, I'd agree, but think of a more specific idea first and then tell us it.

Harder Boss Monsters: Definately a fun idea. A good idea, I'm not so sure.

More substantial quest rewards: Might be good, might not. There would be good and bad parts.
I think the qp is a plenty good reward.

RD's: Yes, something should be done, but it would be highly difficult.

Boss Monster Levels: Good idea. You'd just have to make sure that the monster gets killed before you can proceed.

Larger Wyvern community: It would probably be good, but some of us wouldn't like it.

On a side note, you have the most funny forum avatar I've ever seen.

EDIT: "You" is Warcow. Quijote posted after I started.

how would it be disappointing if every race had one?

You have to get a character of every race to play them.

Unfun for a lot of us.

Perhaps more in the way of race-specific items? Or maybe towns that only certain races can enter without getting attacked or somesuch?

so? Wouldn't that encourage people making more chars and getting to know more of the game?

Then race specific quests would be a bad idea.

[/quote:ef0f2]
um.. what do you mean? I figured it would be similar to the current LQ monsters like Gore or maybe the gauntlet... and we'd time and time again fight it and drive it back to where it came from (ofc it would be much more rare than say Gore or Archus)[/quote:ef0f2]
Oh, ok. I misunderstood what you meant.

k I was just thinking of one for the nagas, after they can visit the hydra council house at level 20, the elder hydra behind the desk would speak of a quest... something about an ancient parchment hidden deep within the pools under Vestimas that tells the tale of a powerful hydra that was long-ago banished for (insert reason). After retrieving the scroll, the elder hydra would reveal that a passage to the hiding place of the banished hydra could be found in the frog house in Vestimas. Sure enough, after you find the passage and confront the banished one, you learn that he speaks of long years of training, discovery of ancient spells, and plans of revolt; and it is up to you to destroy the banished one before it is too late.

As you confront him, you'll have to face the new spells that he happened to have learned as well as powerful melee and other ordinary water/ice based spells.

After you defeat him and recover whatever treasure he holds, you'll return to the elder hydra and he will identify the amulet as (insert name) and that will be the quest reward
(I'm thinking an amulet that gives +2 Meditation and +10% Cold resist would be appropriate, only wearable by the one who completed the quest)[/quote:ef0f2]
But wouldn't that be unfair to the other races?
[/quote:ef0f2]
there are some people that doesn't look highly of qp, all they do is go after the naga guards or jump into a RD hoping to get to higher levels; hopefully the rewards might draw them back to questing.[/quote:ef0f2]
Yes. I said I wasn't sure one way or the other, and I still am not.
[/quote:ef0f2]
Yeah I'm thinking of something to do with levers and gates or the monster can hold a key that opens the door to the next level[/quote:ef0f2]
I then agree that it would definately be a good idea.
Also: If they were highly strong in one element each (different elements for different monsters), then that might prevent one from only fighting what you can kill. (or only fighting what can't kill you)
[quote:ef0f2]Larger Wyvern community: It would probably be good, but some of us wouldn't like it.
[/quote:ef0f2]
More of a personal preference of mine, yeah I see your point.[/quote:ef0f2]
So, while it would be good, let's not press it.

what about EXP day

everybody gets 25% more XP each kill for 24 hours

ive seen this alot in other games thought it would be cool if it was in wyvern =]
[/quote:c7a56]
yeah i recognize that from Kingdom of Loathing ...but it seems more suitable for strategy games rather than RPG's[/quote:c7a56]
Also remember that KoL mocks a lot of MUD/MMORPG type games. It has weird elements that wouldn't make sense by any other means.

[/quote:c7a56]
What I'm thinking is, after there has been enough unique contents added to each race, it wouldn't be that much of a drag creating other characters. Or, as quijote mentioned, every race will have some unique features, so it does balance.[/quote:c7a56]
Yes, but then, you can't experience the majority of the game from one character.

Yes, it would, but the Kol messages are deliberately repetitive.

Also, we'd have to actually be doing it. The generic messages are much more interpretable.

We were suggesting less generic messages, not KoL style messages.

Why harder Boss Monsters? Oh maybe because you and WARCOW are higher levels? All you think about is something that would benefit you. Low levels can't kill harder Boss Monsters. You wouldn't be able to either, had you not killed the less "hard" Boss Monsters.
[/quote:b462c]
I don't know about Warcow, but I've had one level 17 human and one level 11 pixie. All my other characters have stayed below level 10.
I'm also not very good at putting skill points in the best places, and I am in general not very powerful for my level.
So, no, I am not a high-leveled player.
Lol you can't just make a larger community. Wyvern will become larger on its own. Trust me you won't want to get a very large community takes all the fun out of discovering things for yourself. It steals your personal glory.

I know that, and Overlnd 11 and 17, whether you have good skills or not your character will still be remotley good.
[/quote:abedb]
No, I'd have to be level 22 to be remotely good if I don't spend my skill points well.

Though with the larger community, I rather like a smallish one so there's never over 100 players online at the same time. Kind of creates this small town feel.

That's spam and I don't want to catch any of you spamming for Wyvern.[/quote:a0731]
Even if we were allowed to do that, and even if people didn't dislike it, and even if it got more players than left because of it, it probably would get the kind of players we don't want more than the kind we do.
