*Sigh* I probably should just transfer it from my other computer, and even though I would really rather prefer downloading it from the website, I think I'm gonna do it, perhaps I'll find out if the Map Editor works on this computer. There BETTER be no viruses.

No, that runs the program. We need what you actually download from the website.

that is what I gave you... It is just uncompressed. that IS what you would get from the website if the website was up.

Its not. The file you download is a single installer, nothing else.

right I zipped the entire package so just unzip it.

What Zeo meant Narhalles, is that you have to have the installer to put the editor into your computer. Whenever you downloaded the editor, an image appeared with a little folder and a box which was called jinstall. When you opened it up, it put the editor in the system. What you zipped was a copy of the editor file from Games folder.
If you saved the download to disk, it should still be My documents, or wherever you saved it to. You can repeatedly install the client, or editor, if you do not delete it. I downloaded it, was not there. Use Find to locates the silly varmint, lol.
But I really thank you for a good try, I did not see anyone else offer to do it.

Well, I understand how it should work, but after replacing the variable it still gives me the same error message, Soooooo....

Edit: So after toying around and looking at some things, I was finally able to get it. Enter &quot;C\:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\java.exe&quo t; and it will run.

First, you need to create a file called &quot;games&quot; in your C drive, not in any other folders. Put the map editor folder in there. Then, go to the folder &quot;JExpress&quot; and right click on &quot;WyvernMapEditor.properties&quot; and choose open. Open it with notepad, and at the bottom line, erase everything past the equals sign. Copy and Paste C\:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\java.exe in where the last stuff was, and It'll run. I'm so glad I can finally use the Map Editor! Yaysies!

Well me did yer suggestions, Zeo. Now I need to figure out where the java.exec file is. I wonder what folder it could possibly be in? There was no such folder in sytem 32 folder, when I tried to backtrack. It only had a driver folder.

Might be that I have all teh Java files/programs/libraries.... beats me though... Ill look.

search for Java.exe Fredd, and put whatever folder its in. Also, no matter what you put, remember to put all the double slashes and such, or it won't work. If it does the popping up for a second thing, then its the same problem I have on my other computers, and I can't help you.

okay I found the jinstaller for the editor.

1. download the jinstaller
2. go to sun and download the latest java environment
3. if it still does not work and you are running xp make sure you have SP II (Service Pack 2)
4. If that does not work I have no clue what the problem is.
