Does this match your description?

Took about five minutes with the old standard, MSPaint. As for your idea, I think it's grand. I'm fond of large, slow, powerful weapons . . . I think Wyvern could do with a greater selection of zweihänder-style weapons - great-swords, bastard-swords, and suchwhat.

Unfortunately, it's far too large to fit into Wyvern, eh?

You could shrink Fred's down to size, and it would probably look alright, but it would loose a huge amount of detail in the process. If anyone wants to use mine, go right on ahead; giving credit is always nice, but I won't hunt you down if I see it used without my name nearby.

Stone Great-axe is actually a rather good name. It's simple and descriptive; you don't necessarily want something long and bumbling like "Long-staved stone militarily-aligned wood-cutting weapon of death."

Bah, the axe I made Fury was set at 80x80 in a 3d program for illustration. If I made its image size in multiples of 32, its gonna scale down in indexed color format, with little distortion for a game 32x32 sprite. Program I used, you can set image size, and resolution.
Axes usually have short hafts, of handles. Halberds are the ones with long hafts. Heres the scale trick in use

Fury, pics for items not need to be in scale. So with your art, bump them up as large as you can get with a 32x32 image. Then it allows more detail to enhance the image.

As a class of new axe, The great stone axe is fine. But a arti weapon needs a unique name, unlike that stinky Slicer arti, lololol
