Have you tried ferentus, toe? It's in beta testing so it's free for the moment and the graphics are really something. Though the game lacks challenge a bit: all the quests are about killing some monster and getting back and there's no real figuring out skillsets. A lot to explore nevertheless and I repeat, gorgeous graphs.

I tried Daimonin but it was fullscreen and ugly. Wyvern is pretty in 2d, Daimonin reminds me of Liero.
