I can't install Wyvern >.<

I have a toshiba Tecra Laptop that was given to me. It doesn't want to install Wyvern, it goes into safe mode and gives me a blue screen with some text that I can't read b/c it goes so fast. in about 2 seconds the laptop crashes and reboots. should I get a new one? do I need something? WHY? WHY?

What version of Java are you using? Some have reported problems with 1.6, so you might try uninstalling and installing a 1.5. If you are using a very old version, you might try uninstalling java and installing a new one. Another option is to try the Linux/Unix/Pure Java version to see if that works better for you.

Is java 14.9.9 old?
also Just wondering but where can I get drivers to change screen resolution? (eg stop using 600X750 and use 800X650 or something... like 1050 X 900 full screen?)

I'd start on the Toshiba web site. If they don't have video drivers for it there, they should have links to other sites that will (the mfr of the video card, for one).
