I've heard that 7 spirit is the maximum amount for mana shield, but what % of damage is absorbed by it? And who should use mana shield besides archers and mages, if anyone?

At 7 spirit, 90% of damage you take will be taken from mana instead.

Anyone with low HP and high MP should use mana shield. When you are level 25 and can be two-hit-KOed by a minotaur, it's time to use mana shield.

Just in case you're interested in knowing the formula, Mana Shield starts off by absorbing 20% of all damage received. With each point in Spirit Magic, it absorbs 10% more, maxing out at 7, or 90% percent.

Every point of spirit will also lengthen the duration of mana shield with 2 minutes.
