I am information gathering.
If you could all take a few moments and tell me what armor you generally wear the most and why I would appreciate it.

Edit: fine, now that it's not a trick of nightswift.

Crown of Samhoc-gives me a extra death and life skill.
Robe of the Magi- resist to magic help me when RDing.
Amulet of Death Pro-I have RDed without it and it's not wise.
Girdle of Strength-I need it in order to arry all the reagents I have to use.
Wings of Fae-You can guess why.
Staff of death-Yes I know it's not technically armor-Gives me more death I don't have to train.
Two Rings of OmniMagic-Cmon +2 in death and fire, plus all the other elements with both rings. That gives me better resist, maxed fire/death...who wouldn't want it.
Chilling braclet-Don't know if it works don't care. It's a slot that is meant to help me (You know why).

-Agility clothes
-DSM's
-Other stuff, depending on what im fighting..

I'll usually wear any form of chainmail, whether it be orcish or regular old chainmail. I wear that on my lower level characters because it's easy to find and replace. If I get a good character going, like when I had furybreed, I'll invest in Mithril Chainmail. It protects fairly well, and last time I bought it, I got it for a good price. It's reliable and cheap.

As for helmets and gloves, i really just wear whatever I can find. I don't know very much about helmets and gloves, so I just wear whatever.

For Rings, I like any ring that will heal me. If I have a ring that will heal me or increase the rate at which I get healed, I'll never take it off.

As for a shield, I don't wear one. I would much rather just be using a 2 handed weapon, like an axe or a club.

If I had one, I would most definitely pick a Cloak of the Lion for my cloak. Fear is THE single most annoying spell I've seen, and I'd rather not have to use potions to resist it.

Agility armor, DSMs, resist rings/skill rings

Depends on my the char, but on peacy, it would be these:
wyvern robe: nice to fly in RDs, and also the fire resist helps I guess
skull shield of agility +10 armor +10: 10 dodge and bravery, also very usefull for going just about anywhere
rest of my equipment is non rust agility +10 armor +10 gear: 50 dodge from magical effects is nice, not sure if the armor helps. Non rust, for obvious reasons
rings: enhanced protection, free action, nice resists and free action is a must for rding
amulet of death protection - a real life saver, couldn't do nearly anything without it
On my mage I use imperial crown of samhoc - some nice bonuses that are nice having
shield of power - saves a lot of skillpoints and expensive training cost
ring of omnimagic - same as above
ring of giant strength - untill I manage to get a second omnimagic ring (pixies need strength)
elven wizard cloak - adds 1 meditation
elite wizard robe - again some nice bonuses that save skillpoints

When in NVA, I normally wear:

2 omnimagic rings,
elven boots of armor +10 agility +10 (+1 forestry +2 sneak)
+7 fancy white gloves (probably only player created set in game atm)
Imperial crown of samhoc
Wings of fae
Amulet of Coran
lightweight robe of agility +10
Shield of power
girdle of strength

basically use this set because it gives me the best earth/spirit/mana combination; even though I don't enchant anymore, I still charge wands and cast strength on people

Normal RD Gear:
(copper) helmet of armor+10 agility +10
old gloves of armor +10 agility +10 (new)
Amulet of death protection (because I lose 13M xp if I don't wear it)
ring of the perfect swordsman (I cast full fire resist (15 fire) so +3 swords is nice)
Ring of enhanced protection (this gives such nice resists)
+6 Brown dragon scale mail. ( I hate confuse)
Skull/Mountain/Wolfs fang of armor +10 agility +10 (still not sure which gives best result, difference is very small)
girdle of strength (2 skillpoints saved)
elven cloak of armor+10 agility +10 (because I'm vain about my equipment and the +1 sneak)

for acid recoil monster sometimes I switch to acid resist reing instead of perfec swords ring, but rarely, I'm too lazy to switch.

edit: also have +6 black dsm, hardly wear it anymore


During resist casting I switch to mostly NVA gear, only switching amulets/weapon.

Amulet of coran (need it for mana shield/curse resist)

Fire resist rings - DB can be dangerous in lag..
Dpro amulet- Obvious reasons
Wings of Fae - Avoid RD traps in the lower levels
+ 10 agility armor for hands, head, feet, body
Girdle of Constitution - I have 224 HP without it in Axeman guild.

Imperial Crown of Samhoc - Bonuses to elements.
Amulet of the Eagle - I absolutely hate being slowed down by the terrain, so I wear this in place of a Death Protection amulet.
Robe of the Magi - Resistances, I think it gives a mana bonus. Not sure.
Girdle of Dexterity - I had used it for its dodging bonus, but I may switch it out with a Girdle of Strength. I'd like to be able to carry more, and I don't often need to put the Dodge skill to use.
Cloak of the Lion - The Fear spell is annoying.
Shield of Power - Mainly for its Fire and Water bonuses. The mana bonus is also a plus.
Boots of Fire Walking of Agility +10 - Just for its Agility bonus, and because I got them for the minimum price.
Bracers - Honestly, I don't know. I found them, and it's the only thing I have to fill that spot with. I don't have a Chilling Bracelet yet.
Ring of See Invisible - All of my characters have one of these. I can't stand not being able to see things, and I don't enjoy casting glimpse every 5 minutes.
Ring of Fire Resistance - I honestly don't know why. I just wear it because I haven't come across anything better yet. I might swap it out for a +10 Mana ring.

Black DSM - Acid and petrification resistance (way too lazy to use scrolls for petrify)
Skull shield of agility +10 - So I don't get feared into a band of monos (too lazy for potions)
Elven cloak of agility +10 / Cloak of the lion on my dwarf - Need the agility and my dwarf can't use shields so I give up the agility in order to avoid running into a horde of ugly things (no potions ty)
Crown of agility +10 - just need the agility and I suppose the protection from falling rock traps :OO
Ring of fire resistance - cause fire seems to be the most common element in RD's for some reason
Epro ring - Cause I'm worth it
Chilling bracelet - Fills up a slot and supposedly raises AC
Boots of fire walking of agility +10 - simply need the agi
Padded gloves of agility +10 - same
Girdle of constitution / Girdle of strength on my dwarf - Because constitution is the only accessible girdle I need on my pally. I feel like I need the strength on my dwarf for some reason.

Rings depend highly on who I am fighting, usually greater protection rings cause it's the closest thing I have to melee resists (sad I know)
Agility +10 robe, cloak, gloves, crown, shoes (non-bungling) - I need the agility
Chilling bracelet still - Good ol' slot filler
Girdle of constitution - Same reason stated above
Amulet of greater protection or medal of honour - not much to wear in that department. Extra defense against what not or extra HP (at least I think that's what my MoH gave me). I can't remember which one I preferred.

It would be pretty funny if this were a topic made solely to keep us busy while the servers are down.

Black DSM: I normally have a mage with me who cast resists but my acid is not enough to battle Shogs and Monopods. I have it aliased to change with my Red DSM if I need to battle a Fire Shog.
Death Protection Ammy: Reapers & Riagors; so I don't die.
Agility + Cloth Boots: Dodging is a good skill, and I don't want to bungle mana shield
Agility + Fedora: Same as boots.
Elven Cloak w/ Agility +: Same as boots
Rings of Invis & See Invis: Allows me to run through lower levels, and to single monsters out for battle.
Agility + Fancy White Gloves: No Bungle, Same as boots.
Girdle of Dexterity: More dodging! Yay!
Bracers: More armour, why not.
Skull Shield of Agility +: More dodging, and it gives Fear resist.

I often trade these out:
Red DSM: See above
Imperial Crown of Samhoc: Good for healing, removing curse and mana shield
2 Energy Gather Rings: to heal my SP, since I use mana shield
Amulet of Spirit Magic: Good for Mana Shield
2 Rings of Spirit Magic: Good for Mana Shield
Amulet of Eagle: For the flying
Water Breathing Amulet: for Visiting Ancient Vesimus

i forget too, to add on to my post to you teshuvah, i use the chilling bracelet(doesnt do much, but what the heck) and girdle of strength on all my people but halflings in the paladin guild(in this case, id rather have a girdle of evasion, otherwise girdle of constitution) and i do not make human characters, and too bored and lazy to make an elf.

I use this items no matter the situation... i have been lvling so fast that i dont have the money yet to buy other items depending the situation so i use this full time equipment, but working in get specific areas one. Im a halfling so my equipment is tiny.

body:
-robe of ag+10, armor + something...- extra dodge and dont bungle

head:
-Imperial Crown of Samhoc - Mostly for the + to the Arts, extra mana, and x-ray. and dont bungle

hands:
-fancy white gloves of ag +10, armor + something- extra dodge. and dont bungle
-ring of resist acid x2 - I do RD and have little HP so i think its better to take some extra time killing that be killed by acid recoil


feet:
-boots of fire walking of ag+10 armor +something- extra dodge

neck:
-Amulet of Death Protection - I use it full time. mostly cos when im not in a RD im killing DL or AD, well i kill nagas too and in that case some times i use amy of eagle... never the less, most of the time is death pro + spell of fly

waist:
-girdle of constitution - because I need all the hp I can get.

other:
-chilling bracelet - supposedly helps me out, and anyway looks cool when people click on me and haven't seen one before.
-Cloak: None, im a ranger
-Shield: Shield of Power. magic bonnus. and dont bungle
-weapon: magic whip most of the time.

I dont use scrolls or potions, unless healing or mana potions in situations when if i dont i die.

Wyvern skin robe-small fire resist and lets me fly

guantlets of power- add str and was the best I could get my hands on at the time

girdle of strength-well being a stoney cavie, i dont really need anymore hp, and saving 2 skill points on str is helpful. Put those points in FW instead

Mith Fire Resist ring- PvM only, this helps me incredibly with fire shogs, dragonbreath and such

Ring of free action- PvM only, this is very useful as a lot of higher level monsters cast paralyze, and if you can't move your a sitting duck

other Mith resist rings- PvP only, this is just to keep mages damage to a minimum....and I'm generally broke so I can't afford better

Everything else- as long as it has +10 agility I'm happy with it, if i can get my hands on +10 agility and +10 armor, even better. Very useful for killing quick hitting monsters with minimal damage(beholders, monos, etc.)

Amulets- well if I'm rding I use a Death protection amulet....it's not wise to Rd without it. And if I'm exploring safer areas I use a blessed amulet, saves me some money so I dont have to uncurse everything.

Jumping boots of Agility +10 armour +?. <--- Jumping is useful because you move faster than running and it ignores terrain unless you are on water in which you cannot get enough leverage.

Mithril ring of Shock Resistance. I don't have max shock so this boosts me to 69%
