Default This new LQ

Ok, so it starts out that a powerful evil that has the ability to warp reality is attempting to escape its long term imprisonment. Before him emerge four very large elementals that have the ability to change their forms based off their elements.

Elemental one is earth
: Starts off as a creature of mud, swords stick to him making all melee attacks extremly slow. Water magic has no effect on him, air very little. Weak to fire. After a certain amount of damage is done to him, he changes his form from mud to metal. Immune to most spells, and melee. After a certain amount of damage is done to him again he changes forms and damage defense, etc.

Elemental two is water: Starts off as a water dragon, immune to all water attacks, strong against fire attacks, melee weapons pass through him altogether (immune to melee). weak to air. Again, when he reaches a certain amount of damage he changes forms to ice and becomes strong against air, weak to fire, immune to water, and weak to melee, Etc.

Elemental three and four: Fire and air. Basic same concepts used above.


The changing forms makes it so, that in order to kill all four monsters you need mages and melee. Also, because there are four on the world map at once, it splits the fources, making individuals stand out and harder to complete the LQ.

After all four monsters are killed, it is learned that they were the guardians of the ancient evil's imprisoned world, and were placed on the world to stop him from emerging. Now dead, a portal opens to the other world.

When players enter the world all reality is changed. It's a PK map, and when you look at other players they appear as monsters. Making you WANT to fight them, even as they are needed to complete the LQ. Also, other players see you as a monster, and will attack you unknowingly.

After you manage to get to the ancient evil, he has the ability to also change his form, much like the elementals. Unlike the elementals he isn't bound by an element. He can change into a dragon, a titan, Etc. Each different form has defense against melee or magic, much like the elementals.

Here is the fun part; If the monster isn't killed in a certain amount of time, he finds his way out of his home and onto the world map. When he is on the world map he transforms monsters into subversions to serve his purpose.

Imagin a raigorlich, ArchRaigorlich, ghastopod (monopod and ghast), Etc.

Of course each of these are unique to the LQ, as a raigor, a demon can't actually be undead. (WHICH IS WERE THE WARPED REALITY MAKES SENSE)

All of this is just a basic idea on the LQ. You can take all of it, some of it, or even add to it. I believe it would be unique because it seperates the forces as well as makes mages a needed factor in completing the LQ.

Because the monster can warp reality, there is no limit on what he can be or do. Let me know your idea about it.

I used to think Salkand had a brain, but now I'm convinced it's fried.

Anyways, this is a really unique idea. The thing I like most about it is that there are four monsters on the world map, so everyone has to work together. A key component will be deciding just how much life those suckers have, else it will take too long to actually complete the LQ. I also think they should summon Shoggoth-recoil strength elementals, all four of them, too slow players down a little. The thing I like least is the PK thing. Yeah, it would be pretty awesome if everyone got turned into a monster, but not if everyone attacks hurt everyone else! It would be impossible to really compete. I think that the monster images should be on and mixed with real monsters of the same image, so that people will 'try' to defend themselves when they notice that no hits are landing because it's actually a player. In terms of prizes for an LQ like this, there should be something small for the lesser elementals, for example a scroll of resurrection, or an Amulet of the ___ God, which would give +1 to the LQ's type magic, as well as 50% resist of that element. You get the drift though. Nothing that could sell for 450k.

Unique idea, LQ geared for mages. Kinda like it. Only because I think Sygma would destroy this thing. >.>

I like the first part with the monsters that need mages and meleers to atack.
and the fact that there are four monsters on the map at once.

You kinda lost me on the whole pk thing and after that. Skip that part and just go to a boss that changes forms from something imune to magic back to something imune to melee. And of course with massive hp. I like this idea. Makes it possible for mages or meleers.

about magic... and mages been needed... no respetable ranger need help of a mage...

good idea, but as it is been told, the idea of an lq in a pk area is not good... just think you are killing the sucker and a mage burn the hell outa u, then the boss only make the last poor hit and kill you... i dont think is fair... also think in those mind mages casting fear, confuse, paralicis... that could be a nightmare.

ok, now about the no respetable ranger need the help of a mage... any player using a electrium weapon, or using magic whip or blade spells can do magic damage and be a fighter. (i as ranger use magic whip and blade spells... all i do is magic damage)

There are codes that can be implemented to prevent elemental weapons from working during these LQ, or any other such probability. That would ensure that it remains a LQ requiring both mages and melee.

Ok, i get your point, you are not talking of be only hurt by mages, you want it only be hurt by EVOCATION spells casters. Well i think its not a bad idea, but i believe its more fair if you add evocation spells and long range weapons. (so archers be helpfull too)

The general idea is that when it changes form it will always take a different weapon to kill it. So, although I didn't include archers, the idea does have them in mind. In a way it gives everyone a chance to win, and actually forces you to cooperate with other players.

What is this? A Idea suggested by Salkand that I read the whole way through...I didn't think that was possible, although it does sound like a the LQ version of the Dungeons part in Arilous' Blog.

It's almost humorous, I worked so hard on all those other ideas, but they were never popular. I worked on them for weeks before I submitted them to the forums

I dreamt this one last night while I was sleeping. lol.
