Default AC game mechanics

AC is fixed!

After a long hiatus, you will be happy to know armor has been repaired and its "armor class" protection is effective for you again. Now, those Orcish Chainmails are actually useful! As an added bonus, your armor can be damaged, so keep an eye on it. Let us know if you see any problems.
Given that AC has recently been fixed, here are some question on how certain game mechanics SHOULD work regarding armor. The point is to have a reference for knowing whether something is a bug or not. It would also be interesting to hear what players find as the test things.

My biggest question is concerning damage.

What armor can become damaged (Torso? Feet? Amulets?)

How does the armor become damaged? Do piercing, cut and smash damage all affect it the same way? Is there any difference between melee or ranged? How about spells?

Is armor HP the only factor that concerns damage, or are some armors able to resist certain kinds of damage.

Does PK damage armor?

All body slots that you can wear armor can be damaged.
(rings, amulets and girdles are not damaged)

Melee damages armor. Melee damage = cut, smash, pierce etc (ranged does these types of damage) So no difference.
Elemental damage do not damage armor. If magic does melee damage it will damage armor.

PK does damage armor if it is melee damage.

The rest is for you to discover
Enjoy enchanting
