Backpack Items for mages

I am making a human mage and was wondering what items I could get to help with my skill set. Please list only those that are good but obtainable, give the skill bonuses (if you can remember) and (if not QI) list how to get them. Thanks

I am too lazy to type up a skill set but here are some good items:

From mages guild:
Staff of (whatever-element): gives 2 skill points to the element i.e. staff of fire gives +2 fire magic

Wizard's Cap: Gives various bonuses. I don't know them but maybe someone would be kind enough to post them.

Obtainable from trade:
Imperial Crown of Samhoc: Gives x-ray vision, 1 skill in the arts and in certain elements(feel free to correct me)

Lq prize:
Rings of omnimagic: Gives skill point in every element

Platinum would be good at a higher level when you can afford it. I believe it is level 24 to wear.

And don't forget to put on your tin foil hat.

wizards cap and rings of running are the best
the -2 to all arts will help teleportation (a get-away spell) and glimpse.
the rings only cost 9k in shop total and as a human you will be two-thirs on your way to maximum speed (the speed where you can dodge anything: dragon breaths, large monsters, and so on)
you also might like agility armor as monsters in some places may decide to go aggressive as soon as you enter a map (doesn't usually happen if you have enough sneaking)

Thanks for the information. Most of these items sound like things I could obtain. I was wondering about amulets/ rings for specific elements and arts.

I wouldn't go with rings fora specific element. If I an not mistaken they give +1 to their element but -1 the the element opposite of it. An amulet could be fine but when you want to rd I would suggest an amulet of death protection.

It has been a while since I have used any of this stuff, so correct me where wrong:

Imperial Crown of Samhoc:
+ 1 Mind, Spirit, Life, Death, +1 All arts, 20 Mana, Xray

Rings of Omni Magic:
+1 All elements, -10 Hp, -2 Strength {Correct me if wrong, could just be -1}

Wizards Cap (Never used it so going of whats been told)
+ 2 All arts, + 20 mana, + 1 med {Mage only}

Staffs
+ 2 [Insert element name here], 2 handed {So can't use a shield}

_____________________________________________ ______________

Girdles you would consider using:
Platinum - I'm sure you know by now
Constituion - 20 Hp

Rings:
Running - Think of them like this, with two, and when you get encumbered, you run normal speed (as if you wouldn't have any on at all and not encumbered).
Giant Strength - Good when you get encumbered with loot and need to carry more. +3 Strength each.

Boots:
Lightning boots - If you have 30 dodging + these always make a good choice of shoe. Make you run very fast. Possible to have good amount of dodging and these on if you go the plat way with girdle, bracers, etc.

Some of these sound good, but I thought platinum bungled? Also, couldn't I just cast the speed spell to increase speed?

Platinum doesn't bungle, thats why so many people find it desirable.

Yes, no wonder it is so desirable. when I get to the level I will start looking for them. What about the speed spell instead of rings of running?

If your going air mage then yes, speed spell is a good choice. If not, then I really never found it useful when it only lasted one or two minutes.
