Default What would be a good way to train a pixie/halfing mage?

well i have recently made a halfing and pixie, but dont know how to play a mage ( yes i read the Manuel teshuvah -.-) so what style should i adapt for each? i hear that halfing make efficient mages, and the pxies make strong mages. So any good styles out there that i can adapt to level and play as a spellcaster?

Mages are actually quite easy to play with and adapt to. My fellow wyverneers and I would rather watch you experiment and find the best way to find a mage on your own, but I will give you a couple tips that I think may help.

1.) Most mages seem to train to their level in Fire Magic, and some go on to add Water Magic as well.

2.) Evocation is the main Art used in spells, such as fireball/blizzard, so training that either to 7 (6 sp per cast) or 14 (4 sp per cast) is recommended.

3.) If you make a halfling, make sure to throw at least 3 skills in Merchant. While it is known that many mages incinerate loot, depending on where you go it is definitely worth it. Not only this, but a gem pouch will become your best friend.

4.) If you have the skill points, definitely invest in Find Weakness. It DOES affect spells, and by quite a large margin. This should give you an edge against other mages and make killing faster and fun.

5.) Have fun! This is a game after all, don't forget that.

Well, that's all that I can think of for now. I hope you find this advice useful.

P.S. Halfling mages are probably the most powerful of all mages. Pixies are also strong with their extra sp, but lack the extra skillpoint per level to be the better all-around mage. Pixies are difficult to begin with, but halflings are ****ie-friendly.

From what I remember, here's the essential skills:

Lore -- ability to learn spells
Meditation -- raises mana recovery rate
Evocation -- lowers the cost of evocation spells (most attack spells)
Some form of melee combat ability -- can't always rely on spells

Essential / useful spells to have:
teleport, mana shield, glimpse, resists and bravery, free action, some form of healing, the list goes on and on

You should pick your main attack spells early on, which depends heavily on your choice of element:

Fire is almost a must have

Water is a good second choice

If you wish to be different and explore possibilities, Air, Death, Mind, or even Earth are decent choices.

The key is finding a balance, go out there and explore!
