I don't believe that it affects speed, if that's what you're wanting.

From what I understand, it only really is noticeable the more life magic you have, and even then it only increases the amount of health regenerated.

Life magic does not raise the healing gain from regeneration. Just the duration.

I think regeneration increases your healing rate by 1/3, or something like that. If you don't see a noticeable difference there might be a bug involved.

Is it really a fractional increase? E.g if I had healing of 9, it'd take me to 12?
Can someone confirm this?
Is this true for pots, too?

Regeneration multiplies your current healing skill by 1.5. So you say you have 4 healing, then with regeneration casted, your health will regen as if you have 6. The difference you will see will be an increase from 3 hp a tick to 5 hp a tick.

can someone try the spell and see if it actuallly works? I tried the pots, and they did nothing - no change in healing skill, either reported (by 'skills') or actual (measured healing amount and frequency)

I've tested the regeneration spell before and it seemed to increase my healing by one. Since that was a while ago and my memory may be hazy or I may have done poor testing, I decided to give it another shot. The result was the same. My character had 10 healing. With no regeneration, he hilled 9 hp per tick. With regeneration he healed 10. Unless there are other factors involved, the belief that you get 1/3 or 1/2 more hp appears false.

Thumbs up

confirmed.

I grabbed another pot and tried again. The effect does seem to be +1 to healing - not a fraction of your current healing (mine is 9) nor an increase in rate of healing 'ticks'. It does not show up on your skills list (unlike, say, strength pots).

1.5 times!? I have 19 healing so... it'd be like I had 28.5?

But yeah... I think you're right, Burba.

My mistake, the reason I believed this is because my ranger has 3 healing (2 hp per tick) and with regeneration casted gets 3 hp per tick (4 healing or 4.5 rounded down). I thought I had tested it with higher healing, but apparently not, sorry about that.
