Mage-Magciky stuff!

Hey guys!

Since I'm feeling very creative right now, I was wondering if we could catalogue the experiences in picking different magic elements and the successes of then and lessons learned!

So feel free to share from the awesomeness of blowing of enemies with the absence and excess of heat and ice, to the times we cried ourselves to sleep coz we thought we could make it through with earth!

I'll share one. Pixie spirit when the animation was a small fast moving lightning bolt for magic missile! That was cool and I paired it with lightning bolt. Fun as heck, either punching peeps with magic or blasting them away with lightning! But I got killed easily coz I had no idea how magic shield work. Fail indeed .

My first char was a pixie that I lvled to lvl 17 w/o magic shield, didn't know what mshield was at the time. It was very frustrating, this was a long time ago when monsters like skull and oculus give 5k xp each, so things were very unbalanced. There was bad lag at the time too, cause lots more people were on. So bad lag + pixie w/o magic shield = death, left and right. Also your own spells hurt during that period, so I killed myself even more times than monsters did, and lost lots of xp. It made me quit many times.

What is this magic shield you speak of? Do you mean mana shield?

I experimented with everything on my first char. (mage). Skills were too expensive, so I ended up training everything that had to do with magic thinking that's what made a good mage. My favorite thing about this build is my evocation level...

heh..my first character was a naga mage with 0 evocation. I remember I used to train at the old minath prison (where AH is now) and I'd keep going back to the hospital to refill my mana and eventually lose the map..
