Default Death Protection

Since the recent changes to the Death Protection Amulet (I think it was only reduced 15%) what are the new ways to get death protection? The site post says, "Given all the new ways that have come out to protect players against the death element," but the only new way"s" I can think of are Platinum Armors. What happens to guilds who can't wear plat? The only other possibilities that come to mind are enchantments, or greater protection items. But seeing how I just got drayed wearing dpro and having +35 enchantments from items I really doubt it's that way (yes, I know there's ALWAYS a possibility). So, does anyone want to enlighten me (well everyone since I asked around and no one has any idea) to these new ways? Or does everyone have to keep guessing?

If it isn't enchantments, I have no idea. You can always try dodging it though.

Yeah I was going to edit my post and add that back in as a way to protect yourself from it. Death Protection Amulet, Platinum Armor, and dodging it/not going near it. So many choices to choose from!

Not going near it is apparently the best choice, since dodging it doesn't work out so well when the beginning of it kills you. This includes running in circles around things.

Yes, I tend to run into it when I'm circling monsters.

It's hard to run around things as a Hydra. The only thing I can think of for Nagas is wear more than one. That is, if they're in Monks.

I'm beginning to think Naga Cavies might have a better chance surviving Death Ray as opposed to Naga Monks, since they can wear that Platinum Girdle.

Yes but what about the issue of petrification as a naga? Still gonna get owned by it since you have so much more area to get hit. And I wish I knew a way to protect better from d-ray because essentially now you can only RD at level 23 and higher. Or at least up to around level 20 in the RD itself when you start running into more and more reaps. Seems like the best option is just to avoid that sweet chunk of exp and move on.

For petrification, I was thinking of scrolls. That, or just RD with a Mage. I would do that often in the past, and I always didn't mind sharing xp. However, I don't think Petrification or Death Ray is the most deadliest thing I face when fighting a monster on Katsu or Kotone.

The thing that scares me the most is Acid. 'Cause wow, it hurts. True, it's from 5x recoil, I can't expect the HP to not go down at a lightning pace. Only thing I can think of is Nagas entering RDs is just avoiding Shoggoths and Monopods. Or, manage to time it so you can do some damage and run away so you can heal. Ya know, hit and run tactic. I'm really beginning to think Naga Cavies have a better shot at things like Shogs, just because they have more HP. Who knows, I could be wrong.

I bet it won't help much against that kinda recoil. But you could just RD with me so far all my naga RD partners die to petrification because of my fail earth. But I can take care of Shoggys and Monos no problem. Reaps aren't too bad either just take a few minutes.

You do have other shifts that don't take 5x recoil that you could use.

Nonsense Teshuvah, a naga above level 20 using any form other than hydra is just ridiculous.

I agree with trayr and also I think there should be a system where nagas have to pay mages to group with them so resist mages can make a living grouping with nagas and resisting them and dealing with all those acid recoil monsters. Also I think once nagas hit 20 they should lose all forms but hydra, reg naga, and frog, thus forcing them to group with resist mages and pay. *nods to self* That would fix almost everything I think... Oh yeah and also ban hydra form from PK *nods to self even more* But on a serious note yeah dragon form won't hurt as badly from shoggies katsu *starts counting on fingers, gives up and just holds up his hands* and I think tesh has told you this many times when you MMA to quick switch so you don't one hit ko yourself.

Yes, I need to experiment with that more. Maybe use MMA more...

@Valkon: I deny that. I have a half of a brain. :<
