Human or Halfling Caveman?

I'm stuck on this question and I have to do something about it to get it off my mind.:p Help plz!

Human
-Higher base strength, so more damage potential than halfling in the long run
-Higher hp, so better utilizes the Caveman guild's 100% hp bonus
-Lower sp, since Cavemen don't need sp anyway
-More convenient armor (not tiny)

vs.

Halfling
-Many many bonuses, some of the most useful may be
-invisibility-on-demand
-innate poison resistance
-hurled weapons bonus
-faster regeneration
-trap searching

I'm not considering stone giants because I like 4 skill points too much. Imo the extra skill points will ultimately make humans or halflings better than giant cavemen.

I've never gotten any char over lvl 10 yet even though I have a bunch, so most of my knowledge comes from manuals, not experience, so pls be patient with me. Any help is appreciated!

You are mistaken. A giant, especially a stone giant, make the best cavemen. Next would be raks, then the rest of the races follow in usefulness. Sure humans and halflings get an extra skillpoint per level, but their low HP compared to giants is a big step down. Not to mention that they have all that wasted SP, which with the guild magic penalties would be useless. You could train up some meditation(-5 from guild) and use manashield potions, but its still a wastes of either skill points or SP.

Also if you heal using the healing skill as your main method, you may be able to train more, but giants are able to shrink heal which is far more effective than the extra Healing skill you'd be able to train with the extra skill points.

That said, I'm not saying its a bad idea, it's very workable to make. You'll have increase speed over giants, but lower overall strength. You'll just need to find a playstyle and skillset that works for you.

But here's a general guideline for what you could use(by the time you're level 25)

25 blunt
20 FW
20 healing skill(if thats your intended healing method, I used the full 20 cause you have a lower overall HP)
13 strength(+2 from girdle, +5 from potions of strength)

that leaves you with 22 skillpoints. You could pump some into meditation if i you want to use manashield potions. It's suggested that you train some merchant, it makes it easier to make money. Also Spirit travel can help if you die alot. But really, just play around with it a bit and see what works for you.

Subjective. Have you played in the past 70 years? sure giants are easiest to level in the beginning but beyond that they aren't all that amazing. Their attack speed and movement speed are horrendous, and stone giants get the great knack for vulnerability to confusion and paralysis and perhaps slow? perhaps making it to the tank mode of full platinum, full free action, and swift strikes stone giants could do alright but giants aren't the tanks they used to be.

For endoh's purposes, perhaps a stoney would not be too bad to try out to make it past level 10, but level 10+ will most likely prove quite difficult as a stoney.

If you are against giants, I myself always make humans, merely for the fact that they get a cool picture when they guild. Also, halfling's "invisibility" is simply "hide" now, where you get spotted once you attack something.

Why are Raks the second best Cavemen?

Because they aren't giants.

I was more or less asking why Raks over dwarves, humans, halflings etc

Because of the unarmed bonus.

I see I did not know that Cavies were well versed in the arts of unarmed combat

Not as well versed as in use of the club, but of course they would be very well versed in bashing in someones head with their fist :)

When choosing between a dwarf and a rak cavy you basically have to choose between wearing gloves and having natural bravery.
